May 2024 -Blandford/Amenda residence at 212 Paseo de las Delicias
Designed and installed by the late Bill Petitt, long time South Bay naturalist, the garden features several species of southern California coastal natives, such as California Bush Sunflower, white sage, beach evening primrose, and California Sagebrush. All surrounding a magnificent olive tree transplanted from a small pot years ago. This couple has shown that a dramatic native, pollinator-friendly landscape can thrive in the Riviera’s sandy soils with sparingly little watering and with no need for fertilizer or herbicide.

The Turchi home front landscaping has a variety of lovely plants and flowers that complement each other. This variety of plant sizes, textures and colors, that border a grassy area, make a most inviting entrance to their home.

John’s water wise garden features a mature Valencia Orange tree in the courtyard. In front of that are Cacti, a blooming Yucca, colorful Haemodoraceae (kangaroo paws) and contrasting types of mulch all on a drip irrigation system.
A small statue of Buddha and an iron lantern accent the space. John did most of the work himself with the help of a friend.
