At last week’s May 17 Torrance City Council meeting, the Council approved allocating funds for the tree and view ordinance for the coming fiscal year!
Since the Council has already approved funding for the program, it looks very likely that they will approve the draft ordinance when it comes back to Council for a public hearing. The public hearing could be very soon–possibly this summer.
We will let you know when this important meeting takes place, so you can attend the meeting and show support for this much-needed ordinance for the City of Torrance.
Thank you for the many people who have been helping this effort. It’s coming……!
Legado update
For those of you following the ongoing effort to develop the old Bristol Farms site, be aware that the Redondo Beach Planning Commission last week voted to approve the 146-unit apartment complex proposed by the Legado Company developer. The final hurdle will be tested on June 14 when the RB City Council votes on whether to approve this latest plan.
More information can be gleaned from this Daily Breeze article.

Development site boundaries
Many Riviera residents and nearby Redondo Beach residents continue to oppose the development, in its current proposed configuration, based on traffic and density concerns. For all the official details, read up on the latest information posted on the RB city website.
