Our featured Guest on Wednesday, January 26 was Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand, co-author of a voter initiative, which would STOP SACRAMENTO from taking control of local zoning and overturn SB9 and SB10.
Mayor Brand narrated a compelling slide presentation, discussing the newly passed laws SB9 & SB10, and what we can do now to take back local control of housing development and zoning.

We’d like to share with you a detailed meeting summary, and also a Zoom recording of the Jan 26 meeting itself.
- Here is a background article on the initiative to block the zoning bills
- Our Neighborhood Voices is a statewide organization with a link to the initiative text, and ideas for organizing support for the initiative.
We also shared updates from RHA on the Torrance Airport noise abatement and previewed an upcoming forum for Torrance mayoral and city council candidates.
