California just passed Assembly Bill No. 1346, which bans the sale of gas-powered lawnmowers and leaf blowers after 2024. While homeowners and businesses are still permitted to use existing gas-powered equipment, they can no longer purchase non-electric lawn equipment.

The City of Torrance opted not to ban leaf blowers in 2021, but the Torrance Environmental Quality Commission will be looking at various options for regulating leaf blowers.  They’d like to know what you think, and you can take their short survey here.
