This summer’s Outstanding Landscape Award goes to Imants and Cristina Eglitis at 4822 Via El Sereno. Their yard evolved naturally over the past few years. The family enjoys gardening, and they had no set plan. Their main goals with the landscape are low maintenance, water tolerance, and gopher resistance.

Imants and Cristina found that lavender, rosemary, and varieties of sage and succulents seem to thrive. They used stones and pavers to eliminate the lawn and add usable seating and relaxing areas. Imants built the fence along the side of the house and did all the hard labor himself!

They have fun finding new unique plants to add in to keep things fresh and new.
