April 21st General Meeting

The RHA will hold its spring General Meeting via Zoom on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, starting at 7:30 PM. We will briefly share our 2026 activities, followed by a vote on the RHA Officer Slate for 2026-2028 (you must be a current RHA member for your vote to count). After the election, we will have guest speakers and Q&A sessions.

RHA & SNA Candidate Forum

Last night the RHA & the Seaside Neighborhood Association hosted a local candidate forum at South High’s Performing Arts Center. The candidates for District 5’s City Council seat, Torrance Treasurer*, and Torrance Mayor spoke for two hours before a crowd of over 150 residents. The candidates gave their positions on everything from household vending in Seaside during their “Christmas Lights” season to continuing the “Friendship Cities” program.

Due to technical difficulties, we were unable to livestream the forum. However, SNA was able to record everything except for the first two minutes of opening statements from City Council Candidates Betty Lieu and Michelle Brooks. You can watch the recording on SNA’s YouTube Channel here.

Thanks to all the candidates, the attendees, and TUSD’s South High for making last night a success!

*Unfortunately, Treasurer Candidate Charles Deemer did not respond to the RHA’s invitation to attend the Forum. Last night, however, he provided the following statement for us to share:

Local Candidate Forum on April 6th

Mark your calendar! The RHA and Seaside Neighborhood Association are hosting a local candidate forum for the June state and local elections.

Date & Time: Monday April 6, 7–9 PM

Venue: South High School Performing Arts Center Free parking is available in the school lot next to the auditorium.

RHA Officer Elections

The RHA will hold elections and its spring General Meeting virtually at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 21st.

The RHA Nominating Committee’s Slate of Nominees for 2026 are:

  • President: Elizabeth Spatz
  • Vice President, Communications: Gina Magee
  • Vice President, Membership: Catherine Modesitt
  • Treasurer: Linda Schwartz
  • Secretary: [vacant]

The RHA is looking for a candidate for the office of Secretary. If you are a type-A note-taker, here’s is your chance to put your pen (or keyboard) to good use while serving your community. Duties include attending 4 board meetings and 2 general meetings annually, recording the proceedings of the meetings, distributing the meeting minutes, and maintaining an accurate set of the Bylaws. Email info@hollywoodriviera.org for more information on this position!

Any parties interested in any board position should email info@hollywoodriviera.org by April 14th to be added to the ballot.
