Vote!

We’re in election season with important state and local elections upon us. The last day to vote is June 7, but mail-in voting is already available, and in-person voting begins this weekend.

This will be the first opportunity to vote for a City Council member from our new 5th District, encompassing the Hollywood Riviera and Southwood Riviera, instead of at-large. So your vote has even more weight — don’t hesitate!

The League of Women Voters has made available recordings of their recent forums where the candidates for local office were grilled on their positions. In the interest of informing you on the most local of these races, we pass along these links to view the recordings:

RHA January Meeting with Guest Speaker Mayor Bill Brand, Our Neighborhood Voices Initiative explained.

Our featured Guest on Wednesday, January 26 was Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand, co-author of a voter initiative, which would STOP SACRAMENTO from taking control of local zoning and overturn SB9 and SB10.

Mayor Brand narrated a compelling slide presentation, discussing the newly passed laws SB9 & SB10, and what we can do now to take back local control of housing development and zoning.

We’d like to share with you a detailed meeting summary, and also a Zoom recording of the Jan 26 meeting itself.

We also shared updates from RHA on the Torrance Airport noise abatement and previewed an upcoming forum for Torrance mayoral and city council candidates.
